Millions of holiday makers visit the Dordogne each and every year, and unlike many other regions of France where the yearly visitor numbers are declining, the Dordogne is experiencing a healthy yearly growth.
The Dordogne is without doubt one of, or dare we say THE most beatiful and versitile region of France. Where else in the world can you visit a Neanderthal burial site dating back 260.000 years, ORIGINAL Cave art dating back +15.000 years, Roman architecture, stunning Medieval towns, villages and bastides, numerous Michelin restaurants and award winning wineries… ALL within an hours drive!?
For years now we have been approached by visitors asking us where they could enjoy both culinary experiences and vineyard tours.. Our reply was always the same.. sorry, we cannot recommend anything.
Luckily for everyone that has now changed, as of 2016 we can highly recommend Duck & Truffle
Discover the wines of Bergerac
The Dordogne is known to millions of visitors a year for its history, natural beauty and gastronomy, but did you know that the Bergerac region is also home to over 12,000 hectares of vines, 13 AOC and more than 900 wine makers?
Sometimes overshadowed by their world famous neighbours in Bordeaux, Bergerac vineyards offer great value wines of a similar quality.
Tailor made tours
Duck & Truffle specialise in tailor made wine tours to introduce you to the spectacular wines of Bergerac. They collect you from your accommodation and, whilst travelling between vineyards, they share their local knowledge and explain about the different terroirs and the rich history of the vines providing some key facts before you taste the wines.
Groups are purposely kept small allowing them to customise tours to your taste.
